THE country needs a political coalition that can represent all races and religions to unite Malaysians, says Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
Chow, who is also the Penang Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman, said such strength is important to form a harmonious community in Malaysia.
“PH can be that political coalition that can represent all races and religions.
“We cannot have a political coalition that only represents certain races and religions because that will disrupt harmony and divide the people like what happened under the administration of Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional at the federal level.
“The Harapan-led government in Penang is the best role model in uniting the people, regardless of race or religion.
“This is the political coalition that we want and that the people should vote for.
“Hopefully on Nov 19, the voters can make the right choice by voting for Harapan to lead the country,” Chow said in his speech at the Deepavali Open House hosted by non-governmental organisation Malaysian Tamilar Kural at Teluk Indah Flats in Perai today.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister II Prof Dr P. Ramasamy, who is also the Perai assemblyman, state Local Government, Housing, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo and Malaysian Tamilar Kural president David Marshel.
