e Premium Sound Solutions (PSS) team on Feb 1 called on Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng at Komtar.
The team was led by its group chief executive officer Achiel Verheyen with general manager of Premium Sound Solutions Sdn Bhd,
Goh Kok Peow, director Lim Sin Heng and a representative of PSS Group shareholders, Quirijn.
Elaborating on the company’s expansion plans in Penang, Achiel said the plant in mainland Batu Kawan has plans to hire some 50 embedded
software engineers for its start-up operations. Acquiring the former Blaupunkt operations in Penang, PSS has plans to manufacture car speakers
and initially target Proton and Perodua car manufacturers for its acoustic needs.
Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng commented that PSS management should consider investPenang to help source for local technical expertise
for its manufacturing needs.
Achiel said he feels the positive vibes of Penang will maximise the potential growth of PSS in the state.
Lim also extended an invitation to the team to explore the Penang Science Cafe and the Escape Theme Park to gauge its activities which
may be beneficial for the future needs of the company.
