OVER 1,000 participants, including students, NGO representatives, and community members, gathered for the Malaysia Madani Nationhood Seminar today.
The seminar, held at Chang Hua Kor Moral Uplifting Society Banquet Hall, was jointly organised by the Akademi Kenegaraan Malaysia (AKM) under the Prime Minister’s Department, in collaboration with the Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC) and the Malaysia Youth Clubs Association (MAYC) Penang.
Aimed at promoting national unity and strengthening leadership within the community, the programme featured a brisk walk led by Exco for Penang Youth, Sports and Health Daniel Gooi Zi Sen alongside AKM deputy director Syahirah Shafie, Zumba session, free health screenings, exhibitions by government agencies, the “Madani Unites Us” seminar, talks, games and a lucky draw.
In his speech, Gooi encouraged more seminars of this nature to be held across the state to showcase the achievements and effectiveness of the Federal government lately.
Gooi also emphasised that the ‘Malaysia Madani’ concept introduced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is a progressive and inclusive framework, making such seminars crucial in building national identity, fostering patriotism and raising awareness on the need to reject negative values as responsible Malaysians.
“This seminar provides a comprehensive platform for youth and community leaders to embrace the values of Madani and apply them in their daily lives,” Gooi said.

Also present were Penang AKM deputy director Khairul Fadzreen Khairruddin, Penang Youth and Sports Department director Mozakir Buyong Mokhtar and PYDC general manager Lum Chia How.
