THE Penang Youth Development Corporation (PYDC) has announced an official collaboration with the Malaysia-Henan Chamber of Commerce, aimed at supporting and facilitating the development of start-ups in Malaysia and China’s Henan province.
PYDC general manager Dr Gwee Sai Ling said the collaboration is intended to help young start-ups in promoting their products in international markets.
“The young start-ups are participants from the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (YEC), an annual flagship programme by PYDC since 2020 to cultivate the spirit of entrepreneurship within the youth in Penang.
“Through this partnership, the Malaysia-Henan Chamber of Commerce will provide the young start-ups with opportunities to showcase their products in Henan, China, through exhibitions or programmes.
“This, in turn, will give them more exposure in terms of how to market their products locally and globally and also to help them in other areas, such as networking and promotional activities.
“This will also boost PYDC’s efforts to accelerate our young entrepreneurs under the PYDC platform,” Gwee told a press conference at the PYDC office in Jelutong today.
Also present were state Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee and Malaysia-Henan Chamber of Commerce chairman Derek Chong.
According to Gwee, PYDC is always committed to providing the best platform for young entrepreneurs in Penang to become successful entrepreneurs.
Soon said such collaboration between PYDC and Malaysia-Henan Chamber of Commerce would enable young startups to showcase their products at exhibitions.
“These start-ups will experience accelerated growth in their entrepreneurial endeavours after achieving success in the Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge (YEC) organised by PYDC,” he said.
