ABOUT 160 children of Rumah Kanak Kanak Taman Bakti (RKKTB) in Kepala Batas, Penang, received duit raya and a goody bag each.
The function was graced by the Penang governor Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas’ consort, Toh Puan Majimor Shariff, and Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow’s wife, Tan Lean Kee.
Also present were Deputy Chief Minister I Datuk Ahmad Zakiyuddin Abdul Rahman, state Welfare Department (JKMPP) deputy director Hilnani Marzuki and RKKTB principal Noorlela Saad.
In her speech, Tan, who is also the Pertubuhan Wanita Mutiara (PWM) chairman, said she hoped the visit would help bring some cheer and happiness to the children. This, she said, was also in line with Penang2030 vision to boost family unity.
At the function, PWM presented a mock cheque for RM2,000 to RKKTB.
The guests were taken for a tour of the home like the Master Chef Kitchen, nursery centre and also treated to a taekowndo display put up by children of the home.
