THE Sungai Pinang Penang Youth Committee (JBPP) together with the Sungai Pinang state constituency service centre are reaching out to the youths in Sungai Pinang through the ‘Jelajah Belia Kadun Sungai Pinang’ campaign.

Sungai Pinang assemblyman Lim Siew Khim said the objective of the campaign was to empower youths and nurture them into leaders of the future.

“We want the youths to know that they play an important role in shaping the future.

“Youths can vote for the government that they prefer,” she said when met at the basketball court in Karpal Singh Drive today.

Lim said the campaign was also aimed at bridging the youths and the government agencies, institutions, and other platforms.

Sungai Pinang JBPP committee member Muhammad Shahrizul Muiz said the campaign organisers formed partnerships with other agencies and organisations to provide more benefits to the youths.

“We want to give our youths the exposure they needed besides employment and business opportunities.

“We have seven Village Community Management Councils (MPKKs) in Sungai Pinang and we are collaborating with them to empower our youths.

“This is our first programme under the ‘Jelajah Belia Kadun Sungai Pinang’ campaign,” he said.

Most visitors had a great time taking part in the Zumba dance, while several youths participated in the penalty shoot-out competition.
