LEADERS of various Federal departments and agencies responded positively to the state’s Penang2030 briefing at the Penang Skills Development Centre (PSDC) in Bayan Lepas.
Some 80 participants, including directors, head of departments and decision-makers, took part in the half-day workshop organised by the Penang2030 Unit today.

The event officer-in-charge Oh Chin Eng said the workshop was the fourth internal engagement held for government officials.
“Workshops have been conducted for the ‘champion officers’, state Secretary officers, as well as state agencies and departments in the past. The ‘champion officers’ were selected to recommend projects or programmes that are feasible; in line with the 16 strategic initiatives of the Penang2030.
“We engage Federal departments and agencies in our workshop today. We welcome them to be involved and work towards the Penang2030 vision,” he said when met at the workshop.
Another officer-in-charge Teh Yee Teng, together with Oh were seen busy explaining the Penang2030 strategic initiatives to the participants using the Penang2030 display boards.
The Penang2030 vision: A Family-Focused Green and Smart State that Inspires the Nation has four themes and 16 strategic initiatives.
The four themes are to increase liveability to enhance quality of life, upgrade the economy to raise household incomes, empower people to strengthen civic participation and to invest in the built environment to improve resilience.
