PENANG is taking another step towards its “Cleaner, Greener, Healthier” strategy with a new recycling programme in Pantai Jerejak.
The objectives of this programme are to encourage and motivate the community to be more environmental friendly, encourage a habit of recycling, build awareness on the value of recyclable goods, and to preserve and restore the ecosystem.
Deputy Chief Minister 1 Datuk Mohd Rashid Hasnon, who was at the launching ceremony on Sept 16, said “I would like to congratulate and thank everyone involved for making this event a success especially to the JKKK Sungai Nibong Pantai and students of Universiti Sains Malaysia. Let us all work hand in hand to move towards a ‘Cleaner, Greener, Healthier and Cleaner’ Penang.”
Recycling bins will be placed in Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Nibong, the night market site in Sungai Nibong Pantai, Apartment Desa Putra, and lastly the JKKK Sungai Nibong Pantai Hall.
In conjunction with the launch of the programme, there was also an opening ceremony for the activity centre in Sungai Nibong Pantai.document.currentScript.parentNode.insertBefore(s, document.currentScript);
