THE Padang Lalang service centre has provided 10 units of fire hose to the Kampung Cross Street Voluntary Fire Brigade in Bukit Mertajam today.
Padang Lalang assemblyman Chong Eng said the total cost for all the 10 units was RM9,800 and was fully borne by her service centre.
“As we know, voluntary fire brigades in Penang have been very active in providing services to the people.
“And their services are crucial in the event of any emergency.
“Thus, to ensure that they can operate faster and more efficient in the event of any emergency, my service centre has donated these fire hoses to them.
“And I hope this contribution can help further streamline the work and duties of the voluntary fire brigade here,” said Chong Eng, who is also the state Social Development and non-Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman, during the handover ceremony today.
