BUKIT Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh took time out from his busy schedule to contribute helmets and motorcycle engine oil to some B40 families in his constituency today.

Despite having back-to-back events, the parliamentarian turned up at Sungai Gelugor MPKK (Village Community Management Council) Hall to give them away to a total of 60 people, including senior citizens.

Ramkarpal noted the predicament facing some low-income families during this ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

“The contributions will at least bring some respite to them during this challenging period.

“The allocation provided for this initiative is RM6,500,” he told Buletin Mutiara at the community hall.

Those who turned up to have their motorcycle engine oil changed thanked Ramkarpal for the kind effort.

Separately, Ramkarpal also announced a RM3,000 contribution for a cleaning programme at a vacant unit in Persiaran Sungai Gelugor 2 next month.

“The unit has been left empty for a long time. We will be cleaning the house, which will then be utilised for those in need,” he said.
