STATE assemblymen in Penang have largely contributed to the well-being of many badly affected families during this Covid-19 era.

Through multiple efforts, they have made significant differences in the lives of the needy, and the latest initiative by two assemblymen was forming teams to carry out disinfection works at their state constituencies.

They are Sungai Pinang assemblyman Lim Siew Khim and Batu Lancang assemblyman Ong Ah Teong.

Lim, in her recent Facebook post, thanked the Civil Defence Emergency Response Team (CDERT) squad in the Sungai Pinang state constituency for being part of this initiative.

“The CDERT squad also managed to conduct lessons for residents living at Serina Bay Condominium in Jelutong on using the equipment made available for the disinfection works.

“This led to the Joint Management Body (JMB) at the condominium to be the first high-rise residential committee in Penang to form a team of volunteers to carry out the disinfection works.

“It is very important to ensure that most frequently touched common areas such as lifts, railings and many others are disinfected for the safety of the people,” Lim said in her Facebook post recently.

It was learnt that so that Lim and her team have covered three areas in Sungai Pinang.

Ong, meanwhile, said a team was formed by the Taman Sri Damai Village Community Management Council (MPKK) in Jelutong to participate in this effort.

“I would like to also thank the Persatuan Penganut Dewa Kuang Ti Sheng Chun for joining hands with the MPKK members.

“Residents living in Batu Lancang, especially those in high-rise buildings, can apply through their respective JMBs.

“Otherwise, others who are interested in the disinfection works can contact 04-2804411 or 010-8744308,” Ong wrote in a statement through his Facebook page previously.

According to Ong, a total of seven condominiums in Batu Lancang have been disinfected.
