Retaining wall in Bukit Gelugor rebuilt, resident praises MP and state rep

A RETAINING wall in a Bukit Gelugor neighbourhood has been reconstructed at a cost of RM8,000.

Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh, who visited the site near Jalan Pekeliling, said that the wall was rebuilt after it had collapsed due to erosion in April.

“The reconstruction work of the wall which began on June 15, was completed on July 27, ” Ramkarpal told the media today.

“The retaining wall, located at the backyard of a house, had partially collapsed.

“Seri Delima assemblyman Syerleena Abdul Rashid and I contributed RM4,000 each to rebuild the wall,” Ramkarpal said.

Ramkarpal and his team visited the site to check on the wall.

Resident Kenny Yu commended both Ramkarpal and Syerleena for being the people-centric leaders.

“They are the kind of Government representatives that we want.

“They respond to the needs of the people.

“They are approachable and not arrogant.

“I would like to convey my thanks and appreciation to them,” Yu said.

Yu added that Syerleena and Ramkarpal had earlier visited the site when the wall collapsed.
