Rifle Range upgrade in progress

THE state has started upgrading works at the Rifle Range flats to overcome problems highlighted by residents there.

These include defective piping and lifts that constantly break down.

State housing committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo announced that a new waterproofing method will be used to fix leaks and sewerage pipes in the flats.

“The old method required at least five days to complete particularly drying the waterproofing substances, but the new method which was suggested may cost a little more but will take just a day to complete,” said Jagdeep during his visit to the flats on June 6.

“We have been having regular meetings with the Public Works Department (JKR) and contractors and requested them to go on the ground to each unit in the nine blocks to find out the status of the piping.”-EJ-
