RIGOL Technologies opens its first plant in Penang

A well-known high-tech enterprise in the test and measurement industry, RIGOL Technologies Co. Ltd has officially opened its new state-of-the-art factory in Penang.

 

The new plant in Penang is known as RIGOL Technologies Malaysia. The main products of RIGOL include a digital oscilloscope, waveform generator, RF instrument, power supply and electronic load, multimeter and data collector.

 

The Chinese-based company provides testing and measurement support for scientific research, product development and manufacturing for education and scientific research, industrial production, communication industry, transportation and energy, consumer electronics and other industries.

The new factory is located at the Bayan Lepas Free Trade Zone (FTZ) Phase 4.

 

RIGOL Technologies founder and board chairman Rico Wang said the new facility is the company’s first manufacturing plant in Malaysia.

“It will serve as our first overseas research and development (R&D) and manufacturing base, representing a critical step in this industry.

 

“The new plant will also enable RIGOL to achieve greater market expansion and technological breakthroughs on a global scale.

 

“After all, we believe Penang’s unique advantages will provide us with strong support. This place offers environmental, locational, resource, and trade policy advantages.

 

“It has high-tech semiconductor industrial parks and holds a prominent position in the global electronics industry, earning the reputation of being the ‘Silicon Valley of the East’,” Wang said in his speech during the opening ceremony today.

 

Also present were InvestPenang chief executive officer Datuk Loo Lee Lian, Malaysian Investment Department Authority (Mida) chief executive officer Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid, Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) director Siti Norbaya Kamaludin and Penang Mida director Muhammad Ghaddaffi Sardar Mohamed.

 

Meanwhile, Loo, who graced the ceremony, was delighted to welcome RIGOL Technologies to Penang.
