Running for the environment

COME Aug 30, the Penang Youth Park will be abuzz with activities as the Delta Eco Night Run 2015 will start off from 7pm.
The run which is expected to attract some 1,500 participants, is organised by Delta Solutions Sdn Bhd, co-organised by Lions
Club of George Town and endorsed by the Penang state government.
Registration for the event is open to all participants aged 13 years old and above,
but participants below 18 need authorisation of their parents or guardians.
The few categories available are:
A). Men Open: aged below 34.
B). Men Junior Veteran: aged 35 – 44
C). Men Senior Veteran: aged 45 &
above.
D).Women Open: aged below 38.
E). Women Veteran: aged 35 & above.
F). Fun Run (3.5km).
“This eco-themed run ‘human firefly’ will be a great way to educate participants and conserve our fragile ecosystem, besides bringing us a healthy lifestyle,” Delta Business Solutions Sdn Bhd marketing communications executive BC Lae said at a press
conference with exco for Youth & Sports, Women,Family and Community Development , Chong Eng at Komtar on July 3.
Also present were Lions Club of George Town president Tan Kheng Liat and Business Solutions Sdn Bhd general manager, Choo Eng Hin.
Lae added that starting from 2012, Delta Business Solution organised Delta Eco Night Run for the first time with the sole purpose of promoting leisure exercises for health and also to promote care and love for the green environment.
“We hope to raise RM15,000 and channel it to Seberang Perai Sustainable Community Award 2015 to give recognition to the community which has initiatives and excellent achievements in improving quality and sustainability,” he said.
Meanwhile, Chong Eng said she understood that participants will be given accessories including a
blinking lamp.
“This will surely create an atmosphere surrounded by blinkers like the fire-flies of Nibong Tebal,” she
added.
