Sale to alleviate financial burden of local community

TO ease the financial burden of the people, the Kebun Bunga service centre is joining hands with the Lotus Tanjung Pinang to organise the ‘Jualan Rahmah-Kasih Sayang’ this weekend.

The sale, which is an initiative by the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Costs of Living (KPDN), will take place on June 24 and June 25 from 9 am to 9 pm.

Kebun Bunga assemblyman Jason Ong said a total of 20 essential items will be sold at 30% below market price during the sale.

“This is the first time the Jualan Rahmah is being held at the Kebun Bungah constituency.

“So, I hope that the local community would seize the opportunity by visiting the Lotus Tanjung Pinang at Tanjung Tokong this weekend. And more essential items might be added to the list as well.

“We also plan to hold such an event at the Padang Tembak neighbourhood later,” Ong said during a press conference at the Dewan MPKK Padang Tembak today.

Ong also hoped that the ‘Jualan Rahmah-Kasih Sayang’ programme will be also held across Penang and also nationwide.

PKR Bukit Bendera Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) leader Amir Syamimi Hashim said that even though the event is aimed at helping the lower-income (B40) and middle-income (M40) groups, all are invited to be part of the programme.

“There is no limit to purchasing the essential items and we hope that this event would bring about benefit to our people,” he added.

Also present were northeast district penghulu Mohd Hizer Omar and Lotus Tanjung Pinang service manager Fazliani Mat Saad.
