SJKC Kheng Tean, located along Jalan Van Praagh, will soon acquire a big LED screen, thanks to a donation of RM72,888 from Jelutong MP R.S.N. Rayer. The donation was presented at a simple cheque presentation ceremony in the school hall today.

The chairman of the school’s board of directors, Ewe Teik Hooi, received the mock cheque from Rayer at the Dewan Dato’ Sri Ewe Tuan Beng where the screen would be installed.

Also present were former chief minister Lim Guan Eng, who is also the Bagan MP and Air Putih assemblyman, Batu Lancang assemblyman Ong Ah Teong, SJKC Kheng Tean headmistress Lee Hong Choo, and Penang Island City Council councillor Nicholas Theng.

“I hope that when the LED screen is available, it will provide convenience for the pupils to carry out their activities. I hope the school will continue to score better examination results and achievements,” Rayer said in his speech.

Ewe, on behalf of SJKC Kheng Tean, thanked Rayer for his generous sponsorship.

“This sponsorship is not merely an upgrade of our equipment but also a tremendous support for our school’s development and the advancement of education. The new LED screen will be used for enhancing performance effects, enriching teaching methods, and providing training opportunities,” Ewe said.

Earlier, the distinguished guests were treated to a captivating lion dance performance by the school’s troupe. Overall, the school has over 580 pupils.
