High-caliber Scout members were celebrated for their dedication and outstanding service at a special ceremony last weekend, where they received the prestigious King’s Scout badges and certificates.
The King’s Scout badge, the nation’s highest Scouting honour, is endorsed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and other royal families across Malaysia.
At the December 1 ceremony, nine recipients were awarded the coveted badge, while 17 and 14 others earned certificates in the young and teenage categories respectively.
State Youth, Sports, and Health Committee Chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen, who officiated the event, praised the Scouts for their tireless efforts in community service.
“Penang’s Scouts play a vital role in shaping the next generation.
“These awards are a testament to their unwavering commitment, exceptional work, and passion for community service,” Gooi said.
He commended the Scouts Association of Penang for fostering impactful partnerships with state agencies, youth organisations, and corporations through CSR initiatives.
“I am immensely proud of our Scouts’ achievements. Their work not only uplifts the community but also enhances Penang’s reputation. We hope this legacy of excellence continues,” Gooi added.
Adding to the celebration, the Malaysian Scouts Federation (Penang) unveiled the Penang Scouts Bulletin (2016–2023).
The publication highlights seven years of Scout programmes, activities, and milestones.
Gooi emphasised its significance as a platform to showcase Penang Scouts’ growth and success on the global stage.
The ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including National Scouts Chief Commissioner Nasaruddin Shamsuddin, Penang Scouts Chief Commissioner Datuk Zulkafli Kamaruddin, and Penang Scouts Deputy Chief Commissioner Datuk Heng Soo Peng.
