AFTER a successful futsal tournament in conjunction with Malaysia Day in September, Unkillz FC, a local futsal team, returned with its second programme by organising a delicious Deepavali lunch at the Penang Cheshire Home today.

Over 30 individuals, comprising permanent residents and staff, were treated a sumptuous meal prepared by a local food vendor.

The home provides shelter for physically disabled individuals, and it currently has 24 permanent residents and 28 temporary residents on weekdays only.

Home representative Salinder Vathi Mohan Dass thanked Unkillz FC for the thought and effort of sparing time on a weekend with the residents, which is crucial to ensure the individuals there feel important and part of the community.

Through the generosity of various individuals, organisations and companies, the home has seen several stages development, specifically renovation works over the years, particularly setting up facilities for the benefit of the residents.

It has a swimming pool, physiotherapy services, hydroponic space, walls that were beautifully painted with animal pictures, working rooms for the residents to engage in innovative and creative handicraft works.

This latest effort was Unkillz FC’s second for the year following the success of the first one, a futsal tournament in September.
