Sharing Mid-Autumn cheer with community

BRIGHTLY coloured lanterns, amazing stage performances, and the aroma from the sumptuous buffet dinner filled the atmosphere at SJKC Aik Hua here, during the ‘Mooncake and Lantern Festival Celebration’.

 

The event, jointly organised by Lebuh Chulia Village Community Management Council (MPKK) and Padang Kota Youth Committee (JBPP), was held recently in conjunction with Malaysia Day.

 

Another school, SJKC Shih Chung, was also invited to join in the merriment.

More than 300 guests, mainly teachers, pupils, parents, members of the Parent Teacher Association and Board of Governors, and Hainanese Association members, attended the event.

 

The guests, who came in traditional Chinese costumes, were provided with electronic lanterns. They took part in the mini procession around the school premises at the end of the celebration.

 

Besides the mini procession, there were also stage performances by the children and the ‘Saya Anak Malaysia’ singing performance by the staff.

Among those present was Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow’s special affairs officer in Padang Kota Lau Keng Ee.
