ENTRIES are being invited for the ‘Love of Penang Short Film Contest 2019’ until Dec 10.
The contest will run on LinkBike /Canon Marketing (Malaysia) and Petach (state Tourism Development, Arts, Culture and Heritage office) social media channels – Facebook and Instagram.
Petach chairman Yeoh Soon Hin said the contest was open to only Penang residents when he launched the contest at Prestige Hotel in George Town today.
Also present was Fast Rent Bike (Penang) director Ken Yeoh.
“Studies have shown that the length of an advertisement plays a significant role in maximising its impact,” Yeoh said in his speech.
“They have concluded that six seconds advertisement are effective, and hence many social platforms use the concept of short video clips for users to share snippets of their daily life.”
Yeoh said he believed the public would be able to discover more about Penang’s local culture, nature and attractions through the contest.
He added that it would also would engage more people to work towards the betterment of Penang tourism and jointly welcome the Experience Penang Year 2020 (EPY 2020).
Meanwhile, Ken said Vlog (video log) has been the current trend for e-commerce, the skills and method to capture the critical requirements.
“I believe with this contest, participants will greatly benefit from enchanted scenes and creativity towards the multimedia industry.
“We will have a video workshop organised by Canon to create more awareness,” he stressed.
The top winner of the contest will receive EOS M100 (EF-M 15-45mm) single kit lens, second prize winner will take home a Powershot SX740 HS and the third prize winner will receive a Selphy Printer CP1300 and one box RP-108.
The consolation prize will be a three-day two night stay at Hillside Retreat Penang. Besides, all winners of the contest will get a LinkBike Card with all access to bicycles at all stations.
