Society hopes to work with Penang to improve medical sector

THE Penang Medical Practitioners Society is expressing its hope to work with the Penang government to boost the medical sector in the state.

Its president Dr Ajay Kumar Sharma together with his team paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow at his office in Komtar earlier today.

The delegates congratulated Chow on his appointment as the Chief Minister of Penang and extended their invitation to the Chief Minister to attend the society’s annual dinner in November.

The group also highlighted the Penang Health Carnival project, where health screening, blood donation and health talks were among the planned activities for the carnival.

The society hoped to organise the carnival in September or October this year.

Chow welcomed the society to provide suggestions to improve the state’s medical sector.

Also present were the society president elect Assoc Prof Dr Sivakumar S. Balakrishnan, immediate past president Datuk Dr Satish Shukla, honorary secretary Dr Parmjit Singh, honorary treasurer Datuk Dr Lim Boon Sho, and committee member Datuk Dr Kuldip Singh Sohan.
