AS of this afternoon at 12pm, the Penang Water Supply Corporation (PBAPP) has successfully restored 75% of the water services in the southwest district of Penang island.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow expressed confidence that by tonight (Jan 27) or tomorrow morning (Jan 28), the restoration would be complete, reaching 100%.
However, he mentioned a temporary setback as the PBAPP would be executing the Plan B (the Sungai Perai pipeline diversion) works soon after.
This initiative will result in a 16-hour water disruption.
The Chief Minister extends gratitude to the community for their understanding and cooperation during this challenging time.
Despite the temporary inconvenience, the implementation of Plan B is a necessary step to enhance and ensure a more resilient water supply system for the future.
