Sportsmanship shines in Chief Minister’s Integration Football Cup

THE Penang government is delighted to witness a strong bond among the team members who have participated in the Chief Minister’s Integration Football Cup.

In view of the 65th National Day tomorrow (Aug 31), Chow was pleased with the tournament which took place from Aug 13 until Aug 26. The Penang police football team emerged as the champion in the tournament.

The tournament was organised by
the northeast district football association.

Chow expressed his hopes that more such events would take place in the future to promote strong camaraderie.

“We are optimistic that such activity can produce a healthy society and strengthen the relationships between people.

“I have been told that a total of six teams from various state agencies took part in the event.

“Congratulations to the Penang police football team for winning the tournament and a special gratitude to other teams as well for showing their sportsmanship,” he said in his speech before the trophy presentation ceremony in Chow Thye Road today.

The Penang police football team took home RM500 for being the champion.

Among those present were Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Daniel Gooi, George Town Football Association president Haji Ahmad Shah Ibrahim Shah, and Northeast district police chief ACP Soffian Santong.
