KEEPING up with the tradition of distributing mooncakes to media practitioners in conjunction with the Mooncake Festival, state Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee visited the Buletin Mutiara team at its office in Komtar this evening.
Soon said, distributing mooncakes is a gesture of sharing the festive joy as well as enlivening the mood for celebration.
The Mooncake Festival is also known as ‘Tanglong Festival’ or Mid-Autumn Festival.
“My team and I have also distributed mooncakes to other media practitioners, as well as to residents in my constituency (Bagan Jermal).
“Just like every year, we hope everyone can celebrate the festival in togetherness this year,” Soon added.
Apart from that, Soon also wished all success to the Penang Sukma contingent in the 20th Sukma competition which is set to take place in Kuala Lumpur from Sept 16 to 24.
“This month is also a significant month for all of us as the Sukma competition will be taking place.
“Although there was a two-year gap due to the Covid-19 pandemic, our athletes are still highly disciplined. We hope that they will maintain their high spirit during the competition.
“To achieve greater heights, they must have these five ‘K’s.
“They are ‘keinginan’ (desire), ‘ketabahan’ (perseverance), ‘keyakinan’ (confidence), ‘kekuatan’ (strength) and ‘kejayaan’ (success),” said Soon.
