THE Penang government has been consistently engaging the stakeholders pertaining to the proposed Pan Island Link 1 (PIL I) highway project.
Chief Minister Kon Yeow said the state engaged the affected stakeholders during the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) study of the project.
“We had dialogues, listened to their views, and made adjustments. Such engagement exercise is ongoing. It is nothing new.
“We will still be listening to the grievances and making adjustments to improve site control and traffic management when the construction starts,” Chow told a press conference after attending the ‘angpow’ presentation ceremony at Che Hoon Khor Moral Uplifting Society today.
Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik was quoted as saying that the Education Ministry would organise a meeting with the Penang government to discuss matters pertaining to schools that would be affected by the proposed PIL I.
