AFTER a four-year hiatus, the Penang Hairdressing Association (PHA) is gearing up to host its 2nd Penang International Hair and Beauty Festival at the PICCA Convention Centre in the Butterworth Arena.
State Tourism and Creative Economy Committee chairman Wong Hon Wai announced that the festival, on Oct 10 and 11, will showcase the latest advancements, technologies, and a plethora of offerings in hair and beauty from all over the world.
“It is a chance to open doors to new collaboration opportunities, and immerse yourselves in the world of beauty and creativity.
“This festival serves as a testament to our commitment to excellence and advancement within the industry.
“I look forward to welcoming you all and witnessing the magic that unfolds when the world of beauty comes together in Penang,” Wong said.
Wong additionally outlined the programme for the festival, which will offer over 40 booths, with a few activities highlighted below.
- Grand opening ceremony: Showcasing the unparalleled beauty and charm of Penang to guests from around the world.
- Hair and Beauty Wellness Industry Expo: Exploring the latest products, technologies, and trends in the world of hair and beauty, while also facilitating industry exchange and fostering collaborative opportunities.
- Hair and Beauty Skills Invitational Competition: Witnessing skills and boundless creativity from professionals as they compete.
- Global Chinese Beauty Culture Exchange and Development Forum: Bringing together experts from around the world to delve into the trends within Chinese beauty culture.
- International Beauty Technology Exchange Workshops: Offering an interactive platform for participants to share beauty technologies and practical experiences.
Approximately 2,000 attendees are expected to attend this international event, with 1,500 being local attendees and 500 international delegates from China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore among others.
Admission is free of charge.
