THE Penang government remains committed to completing previously announced infrastructure projects and will intensify efforts in 2025, says Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow.
Speaking at the Padang Kota constituency Chinese New Year (CNY) open house at Lee Kongsi, Jalan Burma, today, Chow reaffirmed the state administration’s dedication in driving development forward.
“In 2025, we must further intensify our efforts to implement the projects that have been announced.
“Whether at the state, federal or local government levels, my comrades and I will continue working towards outstanding performance this year,” Chow said.
Looking back at 2024, Chow said despite the challenges, the state government excelled in areas such as economy, investment, housing, welfare, and country and town planning.
Chow also acknowledged the contributions of the local government and its councillors in making Penang a more livable state.
Chow further emphasised that the support from DAP, Pakatan Harapan, the people of Penang, and the Unity government has been instrumental in the state’s progress.
“Without the backing of DAP, PH, and the Unity government, we would not have achieved the outstanding results of 2024,” Chow said, adding that his administration will continue efforts to strengthen grassroots support for the current state government.
Also present were DAP veteran Tan Sri Lim Kit Siang, Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying who is also the MP Tanjong, Penang Legislative Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri Law Choo Kiang, state executive councillor for Social Development, Welfare and non-Islamic Religious Affairs Lim Siew Khim, state Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi, state Local Government, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jason H’ng Mooi Lye, Bukit Gelugor MP Ramkarpal Singh, Penang Island City Council (MBPP) mayor Datuk A.
