THE Penang government always values the development of youth and their talents, says state Youth and Sports Committee chairman   Soon Lip Chee.

He was witnessing the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) ceremony between the Malaysian Scouts Association (Penang Branch) and Pramuka Kwarda Nusa Tenggara Barat of Indonesia in Komtar on April 26.

“This partnership can help them learn and gain more knowledge. Due to this, I urge more NGOs or youth organisations to work towards the achievement of this initiative,” Soon said in his speech.

“I am confident that this relationship will bring forth a positive impact in the future in the building and expansion of scout activities in the state.”

Soon said he hoped relevant authorities could  cultivate more foreign relationship by creating a platform to provide opportunities for the youths in the state.

Soon commended the Malaysian Scouts Association (Penang Branch) for being the first in the country to take part in the exchange of knowledge and skills with Pramuka.

He believed this could improve the development of uniform bodies in Penang.

Also present were Kwarda Pramuka Nusa Tenggara Barat Indonesia’s head, H. Rosiady Husaenie Sayuti, and Penang Scout Commission’s head, Zulkafli Kamaruddin.
