SOME 100 senior executives from the global ‘Power Semiconductor & Electronics Summit Industry’ are attending the International Semiconductor Executive Summits (ISES) at E&O Hotel today.
The two-day event, from today until tomorrow, will cover the latest achievements in wide-bandgap semiconductor, focusing on silicon carbide (SiC) and Gallium Nitride (GaN).
Discussions will highlight new developments in semiconductor materials and technology.
Key areas of focus include bulk and epitaxial growth, materials on SiC and GaN, material characterisation and device fabrication processes, packaging and applications, reliability and power-related materials.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh Deo underscored Penang’s readiness to attract more companies to the state.
He emphasised Penang’s commitment to supporting the growth of the semiconductor and advanced manufacturing sectors.
“I wish the summit great success and a fruitful time for all participants,” said Jagdeep, who is also the state Human Capital Development, Science, and Technology Committee chairman.
Meanwhile, Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) investment development deputy chief executive officer Zalina Zainol expressed MIDA’s dedication to attracting investments alligned with sustainable development.
“Sustainability is a journey, and while it may not always be easy, we can achieve it through collaboration and innovation,” Zalina said, emphasising the importance of talent development and sustainable practices.
Also present were InvestPenang chief executive officer Datuk Loo Lee Lian and ISES S outheast general manager Ellen Wendelin.
