THE Penang Deaf Association (PDA) and the Penang Island City Council (MBPP) are jointly organising The Colourful Run 5.0 next month.
The 5km fun run is aimed at raising funds, in support of the development and education of the deaf society.
MBPP corporate and community management department assistant director Khairol Izwan Salamat said The Colourful Run would be held for the fifth time at 7am on Sept 25 this year.
“The run is open for everyone. It will start and end at 1st Avenue Mall,” he told a media conference in Penang City Stadium today.
Event coordinator Siti Zubaidah Mohd Lani said the organisers targeted 500 participants for the programme.
“The registration fees are RM70 for adults, and RM50 for students and the deaf community.
“There are goodie bags, light refreshments, T-shirts and lucky draws for the participants.
“A finisher medal and an eCertificate of participation will be awarded upon the completion of the run,” she said.
The registration closing date is Aug 31.
A sharing session for the deaf community is scheduled to be held at 10am on Sept 24 at 1st Avenue Mall. The collection of goodie bags for the participants is scheduled at 11am, also on Sept 24.
