Caretaker Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow today urged Penangites not to gamble their future by voting in an inexperienced coalition to helm the state government.
He said the caretaker state government, under the Pakatan Harapan (PH) leadership, had ruled the state for three terms since 2008.
“We already have a proven track record in the state as various developments and initiatives for the people have been implemented for the past 15 years. We believe that we can spur further growth for Penang in the next five years, if given a mandate by the voters.
“We will form a unity government comprising PH and Barisan Nasional elected representatives if we are given a chance this term.
“We will also continue to obtain support from the Federal Government for the benefits of Penangites,” he said in his speech at a coffeeshop in Balik Kampung, Balik Pulau today during his walkabout.
Among those present were BN Teluk Bahang candidate Ahmad Zaki Shah Shah Haedan, Pulau Betong candidate Mohd Tuah Ismail, Bukit Tambun candidate Goh Choon Aik, Bayan Baru MP Sim Tze Tzin, and Miri MP Chiew Choon Man.
Chow said the nation has fostered growth and investments from abroad under the current leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“We have a lot of talents, and many investors have also expressed their interests here,” he said.
Ahmad Zaki Shah also hoped the people in Balik Kampung would continue to support the PH-BN unity government.
Goh urged the voters from outstation to be back this Saturday to cast their votes.
“Have a safe journey when driving back to Penang, and let us vote for a better future,” he said.
Soon after the walkabout session at the coffeeshop in Balik Kampung, Chow and his entourage had their lunch at Kuala Sungai Pinang before continuing their next stop in Bayan Lepas.
Earlier, Chow and his entourage visited various locations and engaged with the community at the Balik Pulau Market.
They also posed for a photograph in front of the ‘I ❤️ Pulau Betong’ signage near Kuala Pulau Betong.
