TWENTY-FIVE charitable organisations received a donation of RM2,500 each from Penang First Assembly of God (PFAOG) following the success of its recent Christmas drama, titled ‘As The Days of Noah’.

The executive pastor of PFAOG, Rev Jessie Ngiam, presented the cheques to representatives of the organisations at the church’s MMC premises in Persiaran Karpal Singh.

Molly Yeap, the church administrator, said a total of RM62,500 in donations was collected from the public and church members who attended the three nights’ drama and MMC Christmas Service.

“Our church has been holding live Christmas drama annually since 1990, except for two years in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Christmas Drama is our yearly gift to Penang.

“The charitable organisations serve our community, and we as a church, support them. We want to contribute to the well-being of these inmates and underprivileged children, etc so that they can experience the joy of Christmas.

“Penang First reaches out to the community during the season of sharing the Good News and giving of gifts in cash and kind to reflect the love of God for the world,” Yeap explained.

The 25 charitable organisations that were the beneficiaries were Asia Community Service, Bethesda Home, Charis Hospice, Crystal Family Home, D’ Home Mental Health Association, Eden Handicap Service Centre Bhd, Federation School For The Deaf Penang, Golden Eagle Nest, House of Hope, Kebajikan Seri Cahaya Pulau Pinang, Majlis Kebajikan Wanita Pulau Pinang, Penang Cheshire Home, Penang Hospice Society, Penang Shan Children’s Home Association, Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Cerebal Palsy (Spastik) Pulau Pinang, Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-Kanak Terencat Akal Pulau Pinang, Persatuan Kebajikan Shammah, Persatuan Penyayang Warga Tua Pulau Pinang, Relau Rumah Charis Bhd, Sarveen Senior Home Care, Silver Jubilee Home, Sima Handicapped Centre, St Joseph’s Home, Stream of Grace and The Penang Home For The Infirm and Aged.
