THE Penang Youth Committee (JBPP) Pulau Tikus, in collaboration with Bangkok Lane Village Community Management Council (MPKK) and Belia Harmoni Pulau Pinang (BHPP), orchestrated a delightful ‘Bake For A Cause: Cookies Workshop’ at Dewan Desiran Tanjung recently.
This event was not just about baking cookies; it was a sweet blend of learning, community engagement, and charitable giving.
Over 20 enthusiastic participants, comprising students and young adults, gathered to hone their baking skills, all while contributing to a noble cause. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, a staggering 4,000 cookies were crafted!
The cookies were packed and donated to SMA Tarbiah Islamiah, Cheshire Home Penang and St Nicholas Home for the Blind.
Belia Harmoni Pulau Pinang president Aiman Fitri underscored the significance of such workshops in nurturing social responsibility among the youth.
“Through our ‘Jelajah Tarbiyah Ramadan’ programme, we aspire to instil a sense of purpose and empathy, particularly during this blessed month,” he shared.
JBPP Pulau Tikus chairman Arief Ferdaus expressed immense satisfaction with the outcome of the programme.
“We aim to foster a culture of giving back among our youth, and this event is just the beginning,” he affirmed, highlighting the commitment to future endeavours.
Meanwhile, Pulau Tikus assemblyman Joshua Woo said the initiatives resonate deeply with the spirit of Ramadan.
“The youth exemplify the true essence of community service by intertwining learning with altruism,” he added.
