FOR an industrialised state like Penang, it is vital to emphasise talent development to ensure the state’s prosperity.

Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow highlighted the need to priortise skills and expertise, especially in the area of STEM (Science,Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

Chow shared this during the ‘The Learning Kingdom Education 20th anniversary and annual Gala Dinner 2024’ at G-Hotel today.

“In recent times, I have been paying a lot of attention to talent development in Penang, particularly in preschool education, especially in the STEM subjects.

“We want to focus on teaching STEM from primary school to secondary school, and, of course, in tertiary education, such as TVET colleges and institutions of higher learning.

“Penang, being an industrialised state, has a significant need for talent.

“The state can do very little in the area of education compared to the Federal Government.

“However, we are trying to complement the efforts undertaken by the Federal Government by launching various initiatives concerning STEM,” added Chow.

Chow expressed hope that educational institutions like The Learning Kingdom Education can work together with the state government to produce great talent.

“Let us work together to create a good education foundation for our children so that one day they will become professionals.

“The Learning Kingdom Education’s commitment to nurturing both young minds and teaching talent has indeed left a mark in Penang’s educational realm.

“Together, let us not only applaud their remarkable achievements but also pledge to emulate their dedication and spirit of service.

“I wish The Learning Kingdom Education many more years of success,” Chow said.

Meanwhile, The Learning Kingdom Education chief executive officer Dr Lee Eng Wah said his team is committed to embracing technology and innovative teaching.

At the event, Lee, representing The Learning Kingdom Education, presented a mock cheque for RM43,200 to Penang Seed president Inna Lee Yin Nah. The mock cheque presentation was witnessed by Chow.
