TEAM building can help to improve efficiency, raise motivation, increase productivity and create a peaceful working environment.
State Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee said this when he attended the closing ceremony of Penang Factories Badminton Team Master Open Championship 2022 recently.
“We hope more businesses and corporates will realise the value of team building and start incorporating it into their company culture.
“This is so that more companies will participate in this championship next year,” Soon said during his speech at the event at Jade Palace Restaurant on Oct 28.
Soon said sports is a way of fostering good relationships among the employees of an organisation.
“Sports, particulary team sports, promotes purposeful and meaningful social relationships.
“The closing of this championship is not the end, but a starting point for the participants to nurture teamwork,” Soon said while congratulating all the winners.
Keysight Technologies bagged the irst prize in the women’s team event followed by Dell. The third place was shared by Intel and Jabil.
Intel emerged as the winner in the men’s team event and Bosch came in second. The third place went to Broadcom and Jabil.
Prizes were also awarded to the participants in other categories, such as Senior Player Award, Best Captain Award (Men and Women) Sportsmanship in Sports Award ( Men’s and Women’s Award and many others.
Also present were Penang Badminton Association secretary Leong Kin Weng and redONE chief operations officer Tee Yew Yaw.
A total of 400 players from 21 multinational companies took part in the week-long badminton championship.
It was jointly organised by Penang Badminton Association and GP Sports Event Management.
