The inaugural animal-free display of circus arts to Penang with the Moscow Circus.

PENANG is among the 10 cities in the Moscow Circus Tour of Malaysia 2018/19, which is a special edition production with artists handpicked from two of the biggest Russian circues companies namely Bolshoi Circus and the Nikulin Moscow Circus.

Come Sept 13 to 30, they will be performing at the carpark of Queensbay Mall, followed by Auto City, Prai, from Oct 6 to 21.

“This is after a recent completion of the first leg of its Malaysian Tour at Padang Timur, Petaling Jaya.

The special edition tour is presented by executive producers Datuk Seri G. Radakrishnan and Yahna SG, together with producers Kenneth Lee and Victor Pilipovich,” exco for Tourism Development, Heritage and Culture, Yeoh Soon Hin told a press conference this morning to announce the Moscow Circus Performances in Penang.

Yeoh said Russian circus artists are known for their world-class athletic skills, and we believe that their performances will be able to attract people from near-and-far to witness their performances.

“We also feel that the circus experience will complement Penang’s vibrant arts scence, which the state is known for.

“Among the stunts that the audiences can look forward to during the show includes death-defying feats and various thrilling acts by high wire walkers, trapeze artists and others,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, Lee said the event will be performed in Big Top, the largest circus tent in Malaysia which will set up on-site and could seat 2,700 and comes fully air-conditioned.

“Tickets to the show can be purchased from an affordable price of as low as RM50, all the way up to RM280 for Ringside seats, and are available from www. proticket.com.my. Parts of the proceeds from the tickets sale will be donated to Tabung Harapan Malaysia, for the benefit of the nation’s growth and development.

“Another notable cause by the Moscow Circus is bringing smiles to underprivileged children by giving them the opportunity to witness the show.

“By collaborating with Budimas Charitable Foundation, the organisers welcomed over 260 children to the show on Aug 11, treating them to a display of world-class circus arts that will sure live long in the memory,” Lee commented.
