TOURISM Malaysia, in collaboration with Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) and Bank Rakyat, launched the latest tourism package called ‘Fly Borneo Specials Vol. 2 – More Adventure Awaits You’ to promote interstate travel to Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan.
With Firefly and MASWings as the official airline partners, the programme brochure features an impressive collection of 113 thematic packages curated by 61 tour operators from Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.
These packages cater to a variety of interests, offering an enticing blend of stunning natural landscapes, diverse flora and fauna, adventure activities, rich cultural experiences, and gastronomy.
All packages are bundled with airfare and ground tours at incredibly affordable prices.
To make the travel to Borneo even more accessible, MAG offers a 40% discount on airfare through Firefly and MASWings.
Additionally, Bank Rakyat provides a 0% interest payment scheme for package purchases using its credit card and terminal, allowing travellers to enjoy their seamless dream Borneo vacations.
Tourism Malaysia deputy chairman Datuk Yeoh Soon Hin, who officially launched the programme on July 23, said that this year, Tourism Malaysia aims to raise a total of RM600,000 in sales through this programme.
The sales period which officially started last month, will run until 15 Aug this year.
“These all-inclusive packages, starting from just RM300 per person, offer specially curated itineraries for the travel period until Dec 31 this year.
“The packages include destinations like Kota Kinabalu, Mamutik Island, Danum Valley, Mulu National Park, Sarawak Delta Geopark, Labuan Bird Park, and Labuan Museum.
“We encourage everyone to seize this opportunity to explore the unique destinations of Borneo, immersing themselves in their rich cultures and tantalising gastronomy.
“This initiative will continue to promote local travel under the Cuti-Cuti Malaysia campaign.
“Borneo, a diverse tourism destination, boasts world-class attractions ranging from pristine nature and thrilling adventure to stunning islands and beaches.
“The region also hosts a vibrant calendar of international events, including sporting competitions, concerts by renowned local and international artists, and captivating cultural festivals.
“We are confident that this abundance of experiences coupled with affordable flights and easy connectivity, will make Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan the top choice of domestic travel destinations among Malaysians,” Yeoh said in his speech during the launching ceremony at G Hotel.
Twenty-eight tourism industry players from Borneo were present during the launching ceremony to network and showcase the latest tourism offerings in the region.
At the end of the launching gimmick, the event continued with presentations by several key industry players, including Tourism Malaysia Domestic and Event Division deputy director Yasmin Faezah Samsudin, Sabah Tourism Board product manager Daniel Roman, Sarawak Tourism Board marketing director (ASEAN and Domestic) Barbara Benjamin Atan and Labuan Corporation Tourism, Culture and Arts director Mahathir Abdul Hamid.
