A CARDBOARD display stand producer and a manufacturer of durian products have jointly donated 10,000 face masks to the Penang government to help combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
Crystal Anchor Sdn Bhd marketing director Shum Jian-Howe said his company and Duria Manufacturing Sdn Bhd wished to support the state’s effort in flattening the infection curve.
“We want to play our part to stop the spread of Covid-19. We hope that the face masks can be distributed to the frontliners or to those in need.
“There are many people who could not afford to buy face masks,” he said when met in Komtar today.
Shum said that his company was also planning to give away face masks to four or five children’s homes in Penang.
“The children need the face masks to protect themselves, especially in school,” he added.
Komtar assemblyman Teh Lai Heng, who is also the Penang Chief Minister’s political secretary, thanked the companies for their contribution.
