RESIDENTS of Sri Tanjung apartment in Perak Road had a delighted start to their Thursday morning with the announcement of the successful upgrade of two lifts in their building.
Caretaker state Local Government, Housing, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo empathised with the difficulties the residents had been facing due to the problematic lifts.
“We (State) strive to improve the livability of the residents in the neighbourhood. The total cost of upgrading these two lifts amounted to RM310,000.
“The works started in December last year and were completed on July 14 this year.
“The residents, especially the elderly folk, can now have better accessibility with the upgrading of the two lifts,” he told reporters during his visit this morning.
Sri Tanjung management corporation (MC) chairman Lim Seng Kah thanked the state government for upgrading the two lifts.
“The senior citizens in our community can now use the lifts conveniently instead of climbing up the staircases,” he said.
