TWO participants in the Olympic Carnival Penang 2019 will have the chance to watch the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Japan, most likely its opening ceremony.
The prize from a lucky draw came with an all-expense paid trip, which includes return air ticket and accommodation.
“The top two prizes to watch the Tokyo Olympics are among the 50 lucky draw prizes up for grabs at the Olympic Carnival Penang 2019, to be held on June 23.
“Other prizes include an airline ticket to Taiwan (China Airlines), airline ticket to Hong Kong (Cathay Pacific), electrical goods, smartphones, hotel stays, buffet vouchers and others,” Penang Youth and Sports Committee chairman Soon Lip Chee told a press conference today at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Air Itam.
Among the activities at the Olympic Carnival Penang 2019 are volleyball to be held from June 12-16 at Azman Hashim Sports Arena, USM; Badminton from June 14 to 19 at MBPP Sports Complex in Relau, Tenpin Bowling on June 15 & 22 at Aspiration Centre and MMBC Megamall, Sepak Takraw on June 20 -22 at Azman Hashim Sports Arena, USM and Family Fun Walk on June 23 at Padang Kota Lama, George Town.
Also present were SMK Air Itam senior admin assistant Goh Hong Peng, Air Itam assemblyman Joseph Ng’s representative Shum Jian Wei and MBPP’s councillor Connie Tan.
Soon added that not many people have the opportunity to watch the Olympics.
“I would like to urge all Malaysians, particularly Penangites, not to miss the golden opportunity to win the ticket. Registration to participate in the Olympic Carnival Pulau Pinang 2019 closes on April 30,” he stressed.
