Tzu Chi donates medical devices again to Penang Hospital

ON a mission to boost the healthcare system, the Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia (Penang) contributed 50 oxygen concentrators and eight high flow nasal cannulas to Penang Hospital today.

Its commissioner Datuk Khoo Boo Leong noted that the medical facilities have been stretched to the limits, resulting in a big challenge to the frontliners.

“As the Covid-19 pandemic is getting serious daily, we do our part to contribute in whatever way we can.

“At the same time, we hope that more people and corporations will come forward to do their part as well.

Khoo hopes the medical equipment will be utilised by Penang Hospital.

“It’s everyone’s responsibility to fight this pandemic together,” he told Buletin Mutiara after he and his team again handed over the medical equipment to Penang Hospital’s Infectious Diseases consultant Dr Leong Kar Nim at the Penang Hospital.

Khoo also expressed his gratitude to the kind donors, who had contributed to the equipment as well.

Dr Leong, who was accompanied by other medical officers, expressed their appreciation to Buddhist Tzu-Chi Merits Society Malaysia (Penang) for their kind gesture in assisting the hospital during this challenging period.

Leong appreciates Tzu Chi’s contribution to Penang Hospital.

“We will be fully utilising the equipment given to us.

“They will be used to provide oxygen to the patients, who have health complications.

“Each oxygen concentrator will be used for each patient,” he said.
