Ukraine ambassador to Malaysia bids farewell

COMING to the 6th year of his service, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Malaysia Olexander Nechytaylo is bidding farewell.

 

He has been the ambassador since July 18, 2016, and would be leaving on June 28 this year.

“Penang will always have a special place in my heart,” he said during a courtesy visit to the Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow’s office in Komtar today.

 

He was present with Ukraine’s honorary consul in Penang Datuk Seri Chuah Kim Seah.

 

Chow recorded Penang’s appreciation to Nechytaylo for his role in Penang.

“We offer our sympathy to the people who are impacted by the war in Ukraine.

 

“We look forward to the end of the war and to working towards social and trade recovery,” he said during the meeting.

 

Chow said that perhaps after the war, Ukraine and Penang could consider collaborating in areas such as food processing.

 

Nechytaylo agreed and said that there were many areas of collaboration, besides culture and tourism, that could be explored.

 

“Areas that can be explored include electrical and electronics, information technology, artificial intelligence and internships,” Nechytaylo added.

 

Chuah also bade farewell to Nechytaylo and wished him all the best in his future undertakings.
