ARE we aware that each of us has a hidden dark side kept secret within? If so, “The Labyrinth of Souls,” a drama by local director Tasnim Meera Mohaideen, is here to enlighten us.
Tasnim, a lecturer captivated by the darker aspects of humanity, is making her directorial debut with the aim of establishing this exploration of human complexity as her unique signature.
According to Tasnim, the story centers on internal battles and self-discovery, encouraging the audience to confront their own hidden struggles.
“Inspired by concepts like the ‘four faces’ from Japanese symbolism, the production explores multiple facets of identity and challenges viewers to face their inner selves.
“The play will lead the audience through a metaphorical maze, pushing them to confront their fears and moral questions, ultimately challenging them to reflect on their personal ethics,” she added.
The drama will also delve into a fantasy where justice is served, and criminals are punished.
“If anyone feels that they are on the dark side, get help,” Tasnim said.
Presented by Spice & Curry Production, this event is restricted to audiences aged 18 and above.
The two-day event begins today at Muzium & Galeri Tuanku Fauziah, USM, with performances starting at 8.30pm.
