THE Penang Island City Council (MBPP) app’s PEARL-One Touch recently underwent update featuring new other services to enhance user convenience.
Developed in collaboration with Fintech, ManagePay Services Sdn Bhd (MPay), the app offers Penang users and visitors access to a total of 112 services online via a single platform.
MBPP mayor Datuk A.Rajendran shared that as of June this year, a total of 14,527 users have downloaded the PEARL-One Touch app.
“The app offers various services, including cashless payments, online purchases, emergency service information, and more.
“Phase 1 of the PEARL-One Touch app was launched last year on April 28 2023 and now the MBPP has successfully launched its phase 2,” Rajendran said during his speech at the launching ceremony held on July 28 at Gurney Paragon.
Rajendran also shared that the newly installed services include eComplaints, eBooking, ULicense, DuitNow, LinkBike, weather,
Riicycle (recycling) and Erth (e-waste recycling).
Apart from that, it was annouced that a grand prize of an electric car, the BYD Seal under the ‘Pearl Bayar & Menang 2024’ campaign,awaits the lucky draw winner.
State Local Government, Town and Country Planning Committee chairman Jason H’ng, who was also present, praised MBPP for being a pioneer among local governments in the country by introducing an app that features an e-wallet.
Following the launching ceremony, briefing sessions were held on several topics, including the role of the Village Community Management Council (MPKK) in disseminating information about the PEARL-One Touch app to residents, the new features of the app, the use of the e-wallet, and the Waste Segregation at Source Policy.
The briefing sessions were presented by various speakers.
