A GROUP of about 40 Universiti Sains Malaysia students took time off their studies to take part in a gotong-royong project at Titi Teras in Balik Pulau.
Pulau Betong assemblyman Mohd Tuah Ismail praised the architectural degree students for participating in the Construction Management corporate social responsibility (CSR) project by helping to clean up a house belonging to a senior citizen, 64-year-old Salimah Abu Bakar, and its surrounding areas as well as helping to distribute food packages to some 20 needy families under the Mutiara Food Bank on Dec 1.
The food packages included vegetables, fruits, bread and biscuits.
The activities were organised by Construction Management 200 in collaboration with Mohd Tuah’s Pulau Betong service centre and JKKK Titi Teras, headed by its chairman Razak Din.
“We appreciate the efforts of the students and JKKK members in giving a lending hand to the needy,” said Mohd Tuah.
