Rooted in belief, Chap Goh Meh involves single women tossing mandarin oranges into the sea, hoping that single men will retrieve oranges inscribed with their names and contacts.

The Esplanade is poised to be a bustling centre of activity this Saturday night, hosting the state-level Chap Goh Meh at 6pm, where thousands of people, irrespective of race and religion, will converge to witness this annual spectacle.

State dignitaries are expected to enhance the celebration with their presence, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere.

In Seberang Perai, Bukit Tambun’s Chap Goh Meh event at Bagan Jetty and the celebration at Tow Boo Kong Temple in Raja Uda will commence at 6pm. This auspicious event marks the culmination of the Chinese New Year festivities on its final day.
