QUEENSBAY Mall’s award-winning ‘Vogue for Virtue’ project is back, aiming to inspire youth and support the less fortunate through a unique blend of fashion and fun.
Vogue for Virtue, Queensbay Mall’s annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, is dedicated to aiding the less fortunate. Remarkably, 100% of the Model Search registration fees will be donated to the programme’s official beneficiaries.
This year’s event comprises two major components: the month-long Model Search, which began on May 25, and the Charity Fashion Show with Celebrities, held yesterday (July 6) at 7pm in the mall’s Central Atrium.
In celebration of the 2024 Olympic Games, this year’s beneficiaries are sports-related organisations: Persatuan Sukan dan Rekreasi Orang Kurang Upaya Negeri Pulau Pinang (Pesron), Persatuan Sukan Orang Pekak Pulau Pinang, and Persatuan Olimpiks Khas Pulau Pinang.
Each organisation received RM9,000, totalling RM27,000 in donations during the Charity Fashion Show.
Distinguished attendees included Penang Youth, Sports and Health Committee chairman Daniel Gooi Zi Sen, Queensbay Mall (mall management) general manager Peter Chan, and Queensbay Mall centre manager Lee Sue Ling.
Gooi expressed his heartfelt thanks to Queensbay Mall for organising the charity event, stating: “The mall’s decision to assist sports-related organisations this year is timely.”
“Various sporting events, namely the Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games, Sukma Sarawak 2024, and Para Sukma 2024, will be held soon.
“Some of these beneficiaries have athletes who will be representing us in the Para Sukma 2024. Thanks to the Vogue for Virtue charity event, the aid will boost our para athletes as they prepare for the upcoming challenges in September,” he told Buletin Mutiara yesterday (July 6).
Over the years, Vogue for Virtue has garnered strong support from fashion retailers and top local celebrities. While many familiar faces return to support its cause, new talents also graced the runway, serving as role models for aspiring fashion models.
The vibrant fashion showcase, featuring brands such as Uniqlo, Adidas, Guess, TRT, G2000, Puma, Sacoor Blue, Forever 21, Rookie, New Era, and Anta, aligns with the sub-theme, Vibrant Hue.
The Vogue for Virtue project also have an impressive lineup of partners including Swarovski, Bonia, Guess Kids, The Coffee Bean, Kappa, Kiehl’s, Pico, Al Space, Dreame, Switch, Urban Republic, Quiksilver, Roxy, AnViet, LEGO, and The Body Shop.
Queensbay Mall shoppers were also excited to welcome celebrities Azrel Ismail, Alexis SueAnn, Mark O’dea, and Sanjna Suri to the stage yesterday (July 6) for an evening of fashion and philanthropy.
Meanwhile, the grand finale of the Model Search will take place at noon today (July 7) in the mall’s Central Atrium.
Out of 505 participants, 60 finalists will compete for the titles and a share of prizes worth over RM10,000.
