ViTrox founder awarded Dato’ title

BUSINESS tycoon Chu Jenn Weng, who is also the ViTrox Corporation chief executive officer and president, received the Darjah Setia Pangkuan Negeri (DSPN) which carries the Dato’ title.

 

He received the title during the state’s investiture ceremony in conjunction with the 75th birthday celebration of Penang Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak at Dewan Sri Pinang today.

 

Chu founded ViTrox in 2000 with co-founders, Siaw Kok Tong and Yeoh Shih Hoong.

ViTrox launched its first 3D vision inspection system for semiconductor components in 2004 and has since become what it is today – a global industry leader in machine vision technology. It is located in Batu Kawan Industrial Park (BKIP).

“It is truly a privilege for me to receive this award. This award will definitely inspire me to do more for the state through ViTrox.

 

“On behalf of ViTrox, we will continue to do what needs to be done, We have a foundation and also run a ViTrox College.

 

“Through this college, we will continue to provide more opportunities to students from B40 families to further their studies in engineering courses.

 

“We are confident that we can make a positive impact at ViTrox and together we want to make Penang a destination for investment and to attract more talent to Penang,” Chu told Buletin Mutiara today.

 

Another individual, Penang Trade, Entrepreneurial Development and Rural Development Committee chairman Rashidi Zinol expressed his elation to be honoured with the DSPN award, which carries the Dato’ title.

“This recognition came as a surprise to me. It’s truly an honour for me.

 

“As a state executive councillor, I will continue to work harder for my portfolio to organise more programmes, especially in the rural areas, to empower people.

 

“At the same time, my office will do its best to close the economic and education gap among the residents on the mainland and island through various initiatives and policies that will be implemented,” said Rashidi, who is also the Sungai Acheh assemblyman.

 

For Hui Yin Seh adviser Datuk Chuang Keng Kung, the honour of receiving the Dato’ Seri title from the Yang di-Pertua Negeri is attributed to the continuous efforts of Hui Yin Seh in organising blood donation programmes over the years.

Chuang is one of the seven individuals recognised with the Darjah Gemilang Pangkuan Negeri (DGPN), which carries the title Dato’ Seri today.

 

He expressed his utmost gratitude to the Yang di-Pertua Negeri and the state government for the award.

 

“I also would like to thank all the people who have supported me all these years in this association.

 

“Through Hui Yin Seh, I will continue to serve society through the blood donation drive. As we all know, blood donation is not just an act of kindness but a ‘gift’ capable of saving lives,” said Chuang.

 

Law Suun Ting, who received the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK), remains committed to contributing to the state through non-governmental organisations (NGOs) that he has joined.

Law, who is currently working at the Penang government’s official media publication, Buletin Mutiara, said this is his second time receiving the award.

“The first time was the Pingat Jasa Masyarakat (PJM) that I received back in 2018.

 

“As a normal member, I actively participate in various welfare programmes organised by the Penang Teochew Association and Penang Chinese Town Hall (PCTH) to help the underprivileged community in the state.

 

“This award has inspired me to continue providing invaluable services to the community,” he said.
