WHERE can we get the best nasi lemak in Penang? Or the best char koay teow? Are there any other competitors for it to be ranked among the best?
Now Penangites can vote for their favourites by taking part in the ‘LovePENANG Street Food Competition’ which will be held from now until Nov 30 this year.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said some 2,000 stalls were expected to take part in the competition.
“The competition will be divided into three categories and 21 types of street food such as char koay teow, laksa, nasi lemak, mee goreng, hokkien mee, nasi kandar, pasembur, wan thun mee, and so on.
“A competition QR code will be displayed at the competing stalls for the voters to scan and vote via the LovePENANG app.
“Voters, as well as the hawkers, stand a chance to win prizes of up to RM200,000,” he told a media conference in Komtar today.
Voters will have to spot the QR code at the participating stalls. Then click the scan QR code icon in the LovePENANG app which will direct the voters to the voting page.
Check if the details of the hawker stall are correct. The voters can rate their favourite stalls by giving them between one and five stars. Five stars are given as the best rating. Click submit and the rating is recorded.
Chow said the voters could accumulate the points by voting, and they could redeem rewards and prizes using their points.
